A visionary in wildlife conservation, Nomba Ganamé has dedicated his career to protecting Mali’s unique desert elephants, earning him the 2024 Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa.
Ahead of the prestigious Tusk Conservation Awards ceremony, which returns on 27th November 2024, Tusk is pleased to announce this year's winner for The Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa, sponsored by Defender – Edward Aruna. Edward is Founder and Managing Director of the Reptile and Amphibian Programme in Sierra Leone.
Ahead of the prestigious Tusk Conservation Awards, which returns for its 12th year on 27th November 2024, Tusk is pleased to announce this year's winner for the Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award, sponsored by the Nick Maughan Family Foundation – Claver Ntoyinkima.
We are proud to launch the 'Ranger Welfare and Standards Initiative', developed by Tusk in partnership with the Game Rangers Association of Africa (GRAA) with financial support of The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales and backing from the International Ranger Federation (IRF).

On Saturday 21st September 2024, over 150 African Wildlife Ranger teams took part in the Wildlife Ranger Challenge (WRC), a 21 km (half-marathon) race across protected areas in 18 African countries, to raise vital funds for and awareness of the Wildlife Ranger profession.
Tusk supports a number of initiatives focused on protecting elephant populations, including the work of Tsavo Trust in Tsavo Conservation Area, south-east Kenya. To celebrate World Elephant Day, we talked to Tusk's partners, Tsavo Trust, about their work across the Tsavo Conservation Area (TCA), 'Super Tuskers' and emerging tuskers.

To celebrate World Ranger Day, we are delighted to announce the fifth Wildlife Ranger Challenge (WRC), coordinated by Tusk and the Game Rangers Association of Africa, will take place on 21st September 2024.
CLAWS has seen a 62% increase in their known lion population over the past 18 months. Their work with communities has helped in reducing human-wildlife conflict and retaliatory lion killings.

The countdown has begun for the 25th anniversary of the Lewa Safari Marathon which will be taking place on Saturday 29th June 2024.
Africa is the third largest continent for global forest coverage, after Europe and South America. The forests are a critical ecosystem for people and wildlife, and full of rich biodiversity. Tusk chose to highlight the importance of Africa’s Forests in this year’s Big Give Green Match Fund.
This year, Tusk had a record number of people running the London Marathon and supporting African-driven conservation.
