The Tusk Conservation Symposium brings together our project partners from across the continent, who may not otherwise get an opportunity to share their knowledge and best practice.
The biennial gathering, the first of which was held in 2017, has created an invaluable pan-African network of conservation leaders ready to proactively tackle the most pressing issues facing conservation today.
The symposium unites some 60 delegates representing a range of projects from across Africa. The programme includes a variety of workshops, project-led success spotlights, networking and field-based learning. Previous topics have included: strategic collaboration; building resilience and leading successful organisations; wildlife conservation economies; fundraising and communication strategies; and succession planning.
The symposium offers a unique opportunity to get a better understanding of the challenges facing wildlife conservation in Africa from those who are confronting them head on, helping Tusk develop our own strategies to ensure we continue investing in the best solutions.
I really enjoyed being with like-minded conservationists who have experienced (and are still experiencing) the same challenges and triumphs. Catching up on what others are doing in the field in a relaxed and open environment is invaluable.
