Dahari works with coastal communities to develop sustainable approaches to marine conservation.
Around the world, tropical coastlines are over-exploited. This causes a serious conservation concern and can have drastic effects on local communities’ income and food security.
Dahari partners with small-scale fishers and community organisations to address overfishing and safeguard ocean life. They help to create Locally Managed Marine Areas that are run by the community, for the community. The team conducts ecological research and works for sustainable management of the wildlife resources. Together with environmentally sensitive aquaculture, this provides reliable benefits to local people while protecting marine species and ecosystems.

How Tusk works with Our Project Partners
We provide critical funding to enable our project partners to grow and increase their impact on habitat and wildlife, while also enabling, nurturing and supporting collaboration between them, for greater synergy and impact.
We help to increase awareness and wider support for our partners’ efforts, while also sharing important conservation messages, from the vital and varied roles of wildlife rangers, to the benefits of community-driven conservation, both within Africa and internationally.
Dahari has been a Tusk partner since 2025.
