Created 'Painting Photograph, Acrylic VIII' for the Tusk Turtle Trail 2025

Painting Photograph, Acrylic VIII

Rob and Nick Carter are a London-based artist duo exploring the intersection of analogue and digital through diverse media. Their works, held in major international collections, fuse new technologies with historical art processes, and they are the only living artists to exhibit at New York’s Frick Museum.

“Painting Photographs series captures wet paint in a single moment, enlarged 60 times to explore photography’s ability to evoke painting’s immediacy, texture, and historical tension.”

About the Tusk Turtle Trail

The Tusk Turtle Trail is a vibrant public art exhibition highlighting the urgent need to protect our oceans and endangered sea turtles.

From July to September 2025, a flotilla of artist-designed turtle sculptures will appear across central London — each one a unique celebration of marine life and a call to action for conservation. You can follow the trail with our online map or download a printable map.

At the end of the trail, the turtles will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Tusk’s work protecting marine wildlife and ecosystems.
