Jemma Powell

Created 'Sir David' for the Tusk Turtle Trail 2025

Sir David

Jemma has exhibited widely across the UK, drawing inspiration from nature and her travels. She has also enjoyed a successful 20 year acting career. Her work is held in numerous private collections in Europe, Australia and the US and she has had three solo shows in London.

“The ocean, full of mystery and beauty, is nature’s playground. It inspires, connects generations, and needs protection. Our turtle is named after Sir David Attenborough, and honours his documentary, Ocean.”
Jemma Powell

‘Sir David’ is sponsored by Nick Maughan Family Foundation

The Nick Maughan Family Foundation (NMF) was established in 2020 to further a range of philanthropic initiatives in education, the environment and civic support schemes for disenfranchised communities.

Founded by the British impact investor and philanthropist Nick Maughan CBE, the Nick Maughan Family Foundation has three clear priorities across its three core pillars of education, environment and community.

About the Tusk Turtle Trail

The Tusk Turtle Trail is a vibrant public art exhibition highlighting the urgent need to protect our oceans and endangered sea turtles.

From July to September 2025, a flotilla of artist-designed turtle sculptures will appear across central London — each one a unique celebration of marine life and a call to action for conservation. You can follow the trail with our online map or download a printable map.

At the end of the trail, the turtles will be auctioned to raise vital funds for Tusk’s work protecting marine wildlife and ecosystems.
