The Tusk Conservation Awards, in partnership with Ninety One, return once again to London this November.

The awards are one of the key dates in the Tusk calendar and a chance to thank the frontline heroes of conservation, recognising the amazing protectors of African biodiversity and their positive impacts on conservation and local communities across Africa.

The night itself, is a true celebration of those people who dedicate their lives to protecting, preserving and nurturing wildlife and is made up of three headline awards:

  • The Prince William Award for Conservation in Africa, sponsored by Ninety One, is a lifetime achievement award, given to a distinguished individual for their dedication and exceptional continued contribution to conservation in Africa.
  • The Tusk Award for Conservation in Africa, sponsored by Defender, is given to an emerging leading conservationist, in recognition of outstanding success shown in their chosen field.
  • The Tusk Wildlife Ranger Award, sponsored by the Nick Maughan Family Foundation, gives international recognition to the dedication and commitment of an individual who works in the field to protect Africa’s wildlife.

“Africa is a key global asset for animal, plant and marine biodiversity and for 35 years Tusk has supported vital conservation initiatives across the continent. The skills, experience and networks we have built up illustrate how having the right people at the heart of the right projects are central to their success.

The Tusk Conservation Awards are a chance for us to celebrate the remarkable, courageous and committed individuals on the ground who safeguard Africa’s natural heritage. These inspirational men and women are an example to us all of the power of understanding, respecting and protecting the natural world.” – Nick Bubb, CEO of Tusk

“Africa’s biodiversity is one of the world’s greatest assets — vital to the health of our planet and to the prosperity of its people. Protecting it is much more than an environmental imperative; it is fundamental to our collective future.” – Hendrik du Toit, Founder and Chief Executive of awards partner Ninety One
