PACE is Tusk’s flagship environmental education programme, supporting conservation and sustainability learning, providing ideas, information and training for teachers and communities across Africa.
Created by Tusk and Siren Conservation Education, PACE shares simple ideas, information and solutions to help people live well and sustainably alongside wildlife and as part of the ecosystems on which we all depend.
PACE’s multi-media educational materials (in English, French and some Portuguese) include books, teachers guides, posters, action sheets and more than 30 short films about inspiring grassroots projects that can be easily replicated, all covering seven core topics (living with wildlife, water, trees, living by the ocean, soil, energy and urban living). These have been added to with supplementary booklets on Energy and Climate Change, and on Careers in Conservation, as well as booklets on important species and habitats. PACE has reached more than 1.5 million people, with over 15,000 workbooks in use, and 18,000 booklets shared, in addition to all resources being available digitally.
How Tusk works with Our Project Partners
We provide critical funding to enable our project partners to grow and increase their impact on habitat and wildlife, while also enabling, nurturing and supporting collaboration between them, for greater synergy and impact.
We help to increase awareness and wider support for our partners’ efforts, while also sharing important conservation messages, from the vital and varied roles of wildlife rangers, to the benefits of community-driven conservation, both within Africa and internationally.
PACE was launched in 2004.
